Z-Institute collected and analyzed the three USA games
including all player participants in
World Cup 2006. The focus of this article is on #21

performed a multi-game analysis,
looking for commonalities, strengths and weaknesses in
his
performances.
Z-Institute
developed tools to measure team and
player performances in order to find
the
common
“systems of play”, using spine
analysis, group primary playing areas of the
defense,
mid-field, forward and individual player performances (visual and stats).
Analysis
Summary
Donovan’s Performance in
the “Impact Categories”
in World Cup 2006 was much lower than other
top world cup players such as Beckham, Ronaldinho and Zidane. He had
no Goals,
no Impact passes which resulted in a Goal. He had only 1 shot on goals in 3 games,
with an average of 4 passes per game which resulted in a shot
on goal.
