The following pages will
give you the fan, player or coach an
understanding of the many
player roles that exist in the game of
soccer. We will show you how these player-roles fit
into a teams
traditional system of
play. These different player-roles in a
game are
represented by the
player’s passes or touches of the ball,
and his
playing range on the field. Sometimes a player’s
role is primarily defensive ( protecting his goal area) while another
player’s role is primarily offensive (
attacking the opponents goal).
Some players are
“playmakers” who specialize in moving the ball from
defense to offense. All player’s movement on the field and his
touches
of the ball and passes,
are captured and displayed.
Z-Institute graphically
displays several performances categories such as
completed or lost passes,
intercepted passes and the direction and
length of each pass as
well as who o delivered the pass and who received
the pass. Their data is analyzed and presented for
guidelines or models
for your own
performance or the performance of your
players.
